WIND SEEKER
WIND SEEKER
Chase the breeze.
You’re always mad, you never smile
Like your heart was never there,
But if I told you about the world,
Would you start to care?
Someone attacks—one more ogre,
I’m desperately casting spells.
If I trusted you with my story,
Would you ever tell?

After another narrow escape
Is another sleepless night.
If I didn’t win next time,
Would you get up and fight?
I wish you would, but it’s not up to me
Whether you stand out or hide.
If I wanted to save the world
Would you be by my side?

Summary
Seven magical species. Six of them, dead. One of them, corrupted.
This is the Earth, two hundred years after we began to destroy it.
Unbeknownst to humankind, all environmental pollutants are deathly toxic to any being with magical blood. By the height of the Industrial Revolution, these species were almost completely extinct. As a desperate last-minute attempt, legendary witch Azalea Windseeker turned a male and a female from each of the six dying species into cats, who have nine lives, in hopes that one day, one of her descendants would be able to restore the environment and turn the cats back. Now, there are only months before the cats lose their last life, and the future of magic rests on the shoulders of one 11-year-old boy: Fern Windseeker, the last living witch. But with debilitating nerves, his self-confidence is at an all-time low, and he begins to realize that maybe he isn’t the one meant to save the world at all.
Cleo Jung is a girl who doesn’t care about anyone except herself. She ditches class, cheats on tests, steals money from other students…everyone hates her, and she likes it that way. She’s happy. That is, until she finds out that Fern, the weird, silent boy in her class with vitiligo, is actually much more than he seems.
This is the start of a world of discovery, with both soaring moments of joy and harsh awakenings. There are twelve innocent cats waiting to start the world anew, and two children with an unlikely friendship. By a strange twist of fate, Cleo might just turn out to be the one this planet needs the most…
